Update – Red Run Sept. 10, 2011 flooding
Flood stage on the Red Run is 16ft at USGS gauge
As the video clips and pictures show, the water level
gets pretty close to the Ryan Road bridge and banks.
Notice how the water levels jumped approx. 3 ft in 4 hours.
At 7am it was 13 ft – by 11am it was 16 ft high.
That’s a tremendous amount of water flow in a short time.
Pictures and videos show how the water levels are high
after the ground gets saturated and the Kuhn retention
facility releases its load into the Red Run.
Late Saturday night the air was still, no wind, humid,
and a “smell” was quite noticeable near Dequindre Road.
Long time residents of the Warren area know that odor is
only from the Red Run waterway flowing into the Clinton.
