Red Run: everyone pays

December 20, 2011

Since the Red Run is storm drainage for many, many communities in the
southeastern sector of Michigan, the maintenance costs are shared.
Recent bio-engineering of the bank slopes, shoal sediment deposit removal,
drain outfall repairs, removal of trees blocking flow are just a few examples.
Rehabilitation within the Red Run drainage district is inter-county infrastructure.
Storm Water Management involves multiple counties working together constantly.

The Red Run feeds directly into the Clinton River.
The Clinton River flows into Lake St. Clair and the Great Lakes.
Basically everyone is downstream from someone else in Michigan
