Later this year, a 23-acre test area on Belle Isle will
have a series of heavy plastic five-chamber devices
sunk 12 to 18 inches below the ground to test effectiveness
of Parjana’s energy-passive groundwater recharge pump
operating on a siphon action by natural earth movements
to pump surface water back into the ground.
Belle Isle is roughly 900 acres and generates an
annual expense more than $338,000 for stormwater management.
