Poo goes high tech

June 28, 2016

We live in a rapidly evolving world of technology and communications.

You might have seen,  read,  or heard about IoT – Internet of Things.  This is where sensors in a neighborhood detect occurances in real time,  communicate with computer systems,  and provide information used to strategically explore solutions.

Example

There are serious explorations into these kinds of ideas occuring now.

Now will your local goverment actually be OPEN about all the information collected ?   Maybe.

I have written about some of this before,  occuring in Macomb and Oakland counties.

If someone is buying or selling a house,  the issue of flooding,  is a big concern.  People should know where problems have occurred, and are recurring.

–  Continual Sewer Overflow data should be open to public scrutiny. The public should know about Industrial/Commercial useage and contribution to neighborhood stormdrains. The GIS layers for stormdrains should be accessible on a public viewer,  just like other properties area.
