I attended Holland Elementary from ’72 – ’79 from kindergarten to sixth grade.
Each day I walked all the way down Dawson Drive, turning on Revere,
and then down a “catwalk” between 2 houses to go over to the school.
The “catwalk” is long gone and now people must walk all the way down
Revere to Tuxedo and over to Dowland to reach that area.
In the 70’s I walked and took my bicycle all over those subdivisions
playing with my grade school and junior high school friends.
There was little fear as parents let kids play outside,
completely un-supervised for many, many hours, along the Red Run.
We didn’t wear bicycling helmets, we skateboarded without pads.
It was different time, where kids took more risks exploring the world.
